NeroModena is a company certified under the BRC Global Standard for Food Safety established by the British Retail Consortium and the IFS International Food Standard established by the large-scale retail operators of France, Germany and Italy, which define the safety and quality requirements for consumer protection and compliance with the regulations in force in the food sector at an international level.
On our organic products you will find the Suolo e Salute logo, the first organic farming control and certification body in Italy, and the USDA Organic logo which attests to certification according to the National Organic Program criteria in force in the USA. NeroModena organic products comply with EC Reg. 834/2007 and some are JAS certified for the Japanese market.
Our Balsamic Vinegar of Modena is produced in compliance with the strict parameters that allow it to obtain the Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) mark, awarded by the European Union to food products from a specific geographical area that have a characteristic closely linked to the area of origin, in this case the territory of the districts of Modena and Reggio Emilia.
Traditional Balsamic Vinegar of Modena, on the other hand, has the PDO mark applying to products for which all stages of production, processing and preparation take place in a defined geographical area. In the case of NeroModena’s Balsamic Vinegar, the starting point is the harvesting of our Trebbiano and Lambrusco vineyards, followed by slow ageing in wooden barrels for at least 12 years, in accordance with strict production regulations.
